Mazatlan Beaches

Mazatlan is home to half a dozen Mazatlan beaches, but each beach is unique is it's own way. The cleanest and least crowded is Playa los Cerritos.

Surfing is the popular activity because the waves are quite rough. White sand and coconut palms line the shores of Playa Isla de la Piedra. A more secluded beach is Playa North; it is popular with joggers and people who want to get away from their busy hotel beaches. Available for purchase from a vender are: tacos, drinks, and fresh fish. A popular tourist beach in Mazatlan is the Playa Olas Altas. Its popularity comes for the fact that it is home to the largest waves in Mazatlan Mexico. Other popular beaches are the Playa Sabalo and Playa las Gaviotas, located at opposite ends of the Zona Dorada. Pottery, jewelery, blankets, and tablecloths can be bought here. This Matazlan beach is famous for it water sports. These include parasailing, jets skiing, water-skiing, and snorkeling.
