Rodolfo T. Loaiza 505. A colorful Mexican cuisine restaurant thatÕs popular for its extensive menu, spacious interior and live music. Begin with any of their 20 starters, try the lobster and filet mignon special, and top off dinner with a Latin Lover Coffee made with Amaretto, tequila, Kalhua and vanilla ice cream. Open 7 to 2 a.m.

El Palomar. ( Restaurants Mazatlan )

Paseo Claussen and Virgilio Uribe, near Playa Norte. In business for more than 30 years, this beachside restaurant and bar specializes in grilled meats and seafood dishes. Favorites cuisine here include carne asada and quesos fundidos, Mexican-style cheese fondues. Open 7 a.m. to midnight.

El Shrimp Bucket. ( Restaurants Mazatlan )

Olas Altas 11, downtown, with a view of the sea. The original Anderson restaurant and a longtime favorite. Good breakfasts cuisine, box lunches, great seafood. Marimba music makes for a fun evening. Open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m

El Tunel. ( Restaurants Mazatlan )

On Carvajal, opposite the Angela Peralta Theater, downtown. A Mexican-style diner that has been serving authentic regional cuisine dishes since 1945. Try their pozole stew and other traditional favorites served in a friendly, family-oriented setting. Entrance is through a long, narrow hallway, thus the name. Open noon to midnight.

Gringo Lingo. ( Restaurants Mazatlan )

Rodolfo T. Loaiza 315, opposite Playa Mazatlan hotel. Great for people watching, this is a popular place to hang out and grab a bite before hitting the discos. Indoor and outdoor seating.
